SAM Magazine-Buffalo, Wyo., June 28, 2007- The auction sale of Big Horn Mountain Resorts-consisting of Big Horn Ski Resort and its sister resorts Meadowlark Lake Resort, Deer Haven Resort, and Wilderness Ranch-has been postponed until July 3, to give potential buyers more time to assess the properties. The auction includes all the buildings, equipment, inventory, liquor licenses, vehicles, and ski/snowboard rental gear at the resorts. Bidders can vie for individual properties or the entire collection itself.

Located in north-central Wyoming on 400-acre Meadowlark Lake, the Big Horn Ski Resort has 1,000 vertical rising from a base elevation of 8,300 feet. The area has 14 trails and three lifts, including one double and one triple chair, with 55 percent of its 160 acres covered by snowmaking. The area has also recently built a 10,000 square foot all-log lodge. Terrain mix is 30 percent novice, 40 percent intermediate, and 30 percent advanced. The ski area, along with Deer Haven and Meadowlark resorts, are on National Forest land. A new master plan calls for tripling the area's size.

Deer Haven and Meadowlark resorts include a 100-year-old log-style lodge, log cabins and cottages, and two motels. The combined properties also include three restaurants and three bars. All three resorts are within close proximity on the shores of Meadowlark Lake. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, the resorts also host considerable numbers of snowmobilers and, in season, hunters and fishermen.

The present owners are in the process of completing new and improved water/septic systems and will have everything completed prior to closing the sale.

Wilderness Ranch, an 840-acre private parcel, is vacant land accessed in summer only by FS road; access in winter is by snowmobile or, if you have one, by helicopter. The land is seven to 10 miles from Deer Haven.
