SAM Magazine-Portland, Ore., October 15, 2006--Salomon North America is expected to announce that the company will relocate from Portland, Oregon to Ogden, Utah in the summer of 2007. The move is part of a reorganization by Salomon's parent company, Finland based Amer Sports Corp, which will consolidate the groups North American holdings, which also include Atomic, into one location.

Some sort of move was expected. Salomon was purchased from Adidas by Amer a little over a year ago, but Salomon's offices remained in Adidas' Portland complex. Approximately 75 jobs should be effected by the move.

Once completed, the move will accelerate Ogden's stature as one of the epicenters of the ski industry in North America. Currently the city is home to Descente, Goode and several other ski equipment manufactures and is actively wooing others. \
