SAM Magazine--January, 22, 2007, Flagstaff, AZ--A storm this past weekend brought the Arizona Snowbowl 12 to 18 inches of new and wind-driven snow to the slopes. The optimism is high that the resort will be able to open limited terrain this week.

"We did experience a lot of wind last night into today and conditions on the slopes are looking much better," says GM JR Murray. "We are forecasted to receive more winds through Tuesday night. We will have to see how these winds affect the snow base. We will continue to evaluate the conditions each day."

He continues, "Friday was a tough day for all the Snowbowl staff, but when the wind blows at 70 mph out of the east, it just strips this very light and dry snow off the slopes. We did receive some good snow from the storm system this past weekend and it did bring in some wind driven snow from the Inner Basin." \
