SAM Magazine - Carrabassett Valley, ME., April 11, 2007 - Sugarloaf is a great place to ski, but it sure isn't bad when it comes to golf, either. According to Golf Digest, the resort's Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed course clocks in at number 45 on the magazine's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses for 2007-2008. In addition, Sugarloaf took the "best in state" category, a title it has held since the course opened in 1989.

"To be considered among the most significant public golf courses in the country is a testament to Sugarloaf's unique landscape, pristine setting, masterful design, and commitment to excellence by our staff," said Scott Hoisington, Sugarloaf's director of golf.

The honors place the resort in rarified company, including courses such as Pebble Beach, Bethpage, and Pinehurst to name just a few.
