SAM Magazine-Vancouver, B.C., Dec. 5, 2007-Kirby Brown has been named president and COO for Intrawest's Panorama Mountain Village, B.C., effective Dec. 17. Brown will be responsible for all aspects of Panorama's resort operations, and will report to Dave Brownlie, president and COO at Whistler Blackcomb.

Brown began his career with Intrawest in 1993 at Whistler, where he has served is several roles, most recently as director of resort and lodging experience. His responsibilities included all areas of human resources and organizational development, plus oversight of guest services, information technology and lodging at Whistler Blackcomb.

"Kirby brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to this position, and he will be a tremendous addition to the leadership team at Panorama," said Brownlie.

"I am thrilled to join one of the most talented resort teams in the industry," said Brown. "My goal is to continue to partner with the local community to capitalize on the new opportunities ahead."

Panorama Mountain Village, located in the Purcell Mountains, has one of the largest vertical descents in North America. Quad chairlifts give access to more than 100 trails and former heli-ski terrain. \
