SAM Magazine - West Dover, Vt., May 1, 2008 - One hundred and fifty new fan guns highlight a $5 million snowmaking investment by Vermont's Mount Snow this summer. The upgrades come on the heels of substantial investments in snowmaking last summer, which saw the resort install 101 of the energy efficient SMI guns. Officials at the resort say that this year's investment will eliminate the need for 16 diesel compressors typically used during the season to power the old system, resulting in savings of approximately 200,000 gallons of diesel fuel per year.

In addition to the resort's $5 million snowmaking investment, Peak Resorts will pump an additional $1.4 million into a variety of other improvements including painting chairlifts, improving the guest locker room, and upgrading the Mount Snow Golf Course.
