SAM Magazine-Telluride, Colo., May 2, 2008-A Leitner-Poma quad will highlight Telluride's expansion this summer into Revelation Bowl. The quad will access above-treeline terrain on the other side of the ridge from the area's existing Gold Hill terrain. Situated above tree line, the wide-open bowl offers advanced and expert skiing.

Construction on the fixed-grip lift will commence this summer. It's relatively short, at 1,875 feet, but it rises 800 vertical feet-a 43 percent grade, on average. The top of the lift offers access via a short hike to Gold Hill Chutes 6-10 and the expansive Palmyra Basin below 13,320-foot Palmyra Peak. The base of the lift will be located approximately 1,500 feet above the Bear Creek drainage.

The new terrain is located on a northeastern aspect that naturally gathers snow from the resort's predominantly westerly storms. From the top of the new Revelation lift, skiers and riders will be able to choose ridgelines in either direction, offering steeper pitches and rock features on the far sides of the powder bowl. The center touts an expanse of rolling, advanced terrain, where the resort plans to provide a groomed path for cruising.

"Revelation Bowl offers an unbelievable experience," says CEO Dave Riley. "With some of the best snow and scenery in North America, there are few places that can compare." \
