SAM Magazine-Mt. Crested Butte, Colo., June 2, 2008-Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is making several changes in key management positions as part of a restructuring of the company, including the departure of vice president and general manager Randy Barrett.

"Randy will step down as general manager as we look to make changes in our management structure so it aligns more closely with new company goals," said Tim Mueller, president of Triple Peaks LLC, CBMR's parent company. "Randy has served the company in a number of capacities over the years and has done a commendable job in his position as general manager. Randy, Diane [Mueller] and I are in agreement that it is in the best interest of CBMR to create a new management structure."

As part of the restructuring, other management changes include the departure of April Prout as public relations manager and Jack Gibbons as director of mountain operations. These changes follow the recent departure of mountain schools director Charlie Farnan.

"We respect and appreciate the hard work and dedication that our management team has shown," said Mueller. "These changes in personnel are part of a process that has been going on for some time as we examine all departments and our management team to determine how we should be structured to meet our goals and objectives."

Barrett said he will assist with the transition. "I understand the decisions are with the best interest of the company in mind, and I will be a resource during the changes. I have been here for over 27 years, and my family and I will continue to support the success of the resort and of Crested Butte," he said.

The restructuring process will continue over the next few months as the company looks to fill the chief management role and other department management positions. In the meantime, Tim and Diane Mueller will be more involved on a daily basis. Other company executives and managers will assume added responsibilities as well. \
