SAM Magazine - Aspen, Co., July 15, 2008 - Four years ago, Aspen hosted the first Meeting. The eclectic cast of filmmakers, media types and professional athletes spent the inaugural sessions charting a course for the future: bigger events, more exposure, and riches for all.

While not everyone has gotten rich in the ensuing four years, there's no doubt that many of those first attendees have seen their fortunes evolve for the better. This year the event returns from October 2 to 5, with an expanded cast of characters.

The Meeting has grown to be the cornerstone kick-off event for the ski and snowboard industry. The latest snow films will screen at the Wheeler Opera House and Belly Up throughout the weekend. Parties, including a media bash and the second annual D&E Fashion Show, will surround the films. In addition, private sessions with guest speakers and athletes allow for a spirited discussion on the state of the industry.

Event organizers are currently reviewing movies for this year's event.
