SAM Magazine-Ray Brook, NY., Oct. 10, 2008-Plans to link New Yorks's Gore Mountain Ski Center with nearby North Creek Ski Bowl were given the nod by the Adirondack Park Agency Agency at its October meeting today. The Agency confirmed that ski trails proposed for the link comply with State Land Master Plan requirements.

The interconnect plan calls for eight additional trails and two new ski lifts on the east slope of Gore Mountain over a five-year construction period. A quad chair would connect the Ski Bowl trails with Gore Mountain, while two additional quad chairlifts at the Ski Bowl would accompany additions and upgrades to the Ski Bowl trails themselves.

However, this doesn't mean that work will begin immediately. There's still the issue of financing the interconnect project, which depends in part on the coming winter's business. In addition, Gore has other projects currently underway, and there's some infrastructure work to do. \
