Push to The Latest: No
SAM Magazine--March 28, 2009--In just two months, Utah's unique liquor laws will change, most notably, the elimination of Utah's private club system, which required patrons to pay a membership fee. Beginning July 1, the state will no longer require patrons to be "members," but will require drinking establishments to scan the IDs of anyone under 35 and keep them on file for seven days.

In Park City, the state's first distillery since Prohibition will open its doors in July 2009, as a ski-in/ski-out restaurant and saloon.

The tourism industry hopes that the moves will alleviate any confusion visitors to the state have encountered by making its laws more in line with the rest of the country.
