SAM Magazine--July, 7, 2010--The Burlington Free Press reported that a Vermont federal judge says Powdr Corp., the owner of Killington ski resort, doesn't have to honor 1,243 lifetime ski passes first issued to people who invested in the ski area almost 50 years ago ago.

Powdr Corp. and SP Land Co. bought Killington in 2007 and announced the decision to disallow the lifetime passes, citing abuse by some of the holders of the passes who were illegally selling/transferring them and using them as incentives for home rentals.

A group of passholders got together and attempted to sue the resort to honor the passes.
