SAM Magazine-Laramie, Wyo., July 12, 2010-Aaron and Becky Maddox are buying the Snowy Range Ski Area, which has been owned and operated by the First National Bank for the past two seasons. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The husband and wife team are longtime skiers but new to the resort business. However, Aaron grew up in Steamboat, and plans to tap the knowledge and expertise of friends and acquaintances in the ski industry. The couple plans to operate the family-oriented, novice and intermediate area with a few upgrades, like a new website, to better serve customers.

Part of that new service is selling lift tickets online, and offering season passholders the chance to add five days of skiing at Steamboat Ski Resort for $129. The Maddoxes also expect to receive, and learn from, increased feedback from customers.
