SAM Magazine-Fernie, B.C., Aug. 4, 2010-Island Lake Resort Group has made Doug Feely its CEO. Feely, who has spent more than 30 years in senior positions within the hospitality industry in the United States and Canada, will be responsible for all aspects of operations of ILRG, which include snowcat skiing, hiking and backcountry adventures combined with top-drawer hotel and spa services.

Feely began his career at Copper Mountain in 1980 and progressed through leadership positions with Intrawest Colorado and Intrawest, ULC. He was a member of the executive teams responsible for developing business platforms to support an array of businesses and resorts, and managing relationships with strategic business and technology vendors and partners. He served as CIO for Intrawest, where he was responsible for the people, process and platforms for Intrawest's portfolio of resorts. In that role he provided strategic direction and broad implementation of business support systems, reservation and call center solutions, and web strategies and technologies.

An accomplished athlete, Feely has substantial ski and alpine mountaineering experience in North America and holds certification in Avalanche Safety Skills and Wilderness Medicine.
