SAM Magazine-Wrightwood, Calif., Nov. 15, 2010-Karl Kapuscinski, president and CEO of Mountain High Resort Associates LLC, has purchased all remaining shares in the Mountain High Resort tenant-operator firm, making him the sole owner of the company that leases the resort from CNL Lifestyle Properties. Kapuscinski is entering his fifteenth season as the resort's top executive.

But I'm even more excited about what we and CNL Lifestyle Properties can achieve in the future. I've made this commitment to Mountain High Resort Associates to ensure that Mountain High provides the best experience for skiers and snowboarders in Southern California."

"Karl is a visionary in the ski industry and we are happy that he will continue to lead Mountain High as owner of Mountain High Resorts Associates," said Byron Carlock, president and CEO of CNL Lifestyle Properties Inc., which owns Mountain High Resort and 21 other ski and mountain lifestyle properties.

Kapuscinski has been involved in the ski industry for more than 20 years. He has served as president of the California Ski Area Association, was a board member of the National Ski Area Association for six years, and an early recipient of a SAMMY Future Leadership Award from SAM in 1998.

Mountain High serves roughly 500,000 guests annually. Last season was the resort's most profitable on record and spanned 188 days, the area's longest season ever. This season is off to a good start, too; Mountain High opened Nov. 11.
