SAM Magazine-Tahoe City, Calif., May 11, 2011-Alpine Meadows Ski Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort are partnering on a new season pass program that will allow access to both mountains. In addition, the new passes will also allow access to Homewood Mountain Resort, Red Lodge Mountain Resort, and Durango Mountain Resort.

With the partnership, Alpine Meadows' "Unfiltered" and Kirkwood's "Premium" passes give skiers and riders access to more than 9,000 acres of terrain, more than 9,900 feet of vertical, and 386 designated trails. The purchase price for the new passes is $699 (adult) for a Meadows' Alpine Unfiltered pass or a Kirkwood Premium+Alpine pass. Kirkwood has also extended the sales period for its advance-purchase pass pricing through the end of May; prices for purchases after that date will be announced later this month.

"The new partnership is the ultimate way for avid skiers and riders to access the best of both the north and south shores of Lake Tahoe," said Deanna Gescheider, regional vice president of marketing and sales for Alpine Meadows. "The added value of access to five unique, world-class resorts is a phenomenal benefit to our guests."

The new passes join the Vail Resorts Epic Pass in offering multiple resorts in the Tahoe area on one pass.
