SAM Magazine-Hancock, Mass., June 6, 2011-The 2nd Annual SAM Summer Ops Camp, which affords managers and operators a chance to uncover the benefits and pitfalls of other-season activities, will move its dates from September to October 3-5 at Jiminy Peak, Mass. The move to October is to avoid any conflict with the Fall trade shows in September at Sunday River and Lake Placid. SAM, SANY and the New England Summit will work collaboratively to promote the Fall educational shows.

SAM and Jiminy look forward to presenting a robust program including workshops and seminars that allow campers to experience the many summer activities at Jiminy, ranging from a Mountain Coaster and giant swing to an aerial adventure course and mountain biking. In addition, ROI, risk management, design, case studies, marketing, training, what's new and much more will be covered.

"Jiminy Peak is pleased to partner with SAM Magazine to host the 2011 Summer Ops Camp," said Jiminy CEO Brian Fairbank. "As an attendee of the camp last year, I saw the value of this type of gathering as we join together to promote year-round business at our ski areas."

Last year's program included a presentation and discussion of Disney's customer service and workplace safety programs, a roundtable on summer ops, best practices for mountain biking, and a visit to the treetop Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course for hands-on experience with a canopy tour.

SAM is currently canvassing resorts to ensure that this year's program addresses the key questions and opportunities posed by summer activities. Registration for the Summer Ops Camp starts in July. Space is limited and filled on a first come first served basis. Visit SAM's Summer Ops Page for more details.
