SAM Magazine kicks off the 2011 Summer SAM CAM series with a visit to Amesbury Sports Park in Amesbury, MA., on June 26th, 2011 to take part in the resort's first Warrior Dash event.

Amesbury is no stranger to large scale events like these, having done the Sparton Race Series the last couple of years, but the Warrior Dash Race attracted off-the-chart attendance numbers for the two-day event. 18,600 racers tackled a very muddy, 3.5-mile obstacle course, with waves of 600 racers starting every 30 minutes. But the Warrior Dash is as much spectacle as scramble: live music entertained warriors and spectators alike and 12 beer taps flowed continuously.

Amesbury's Meredith Robinson says, "They bring in new customers to your mountain, use of the shoulder and off seasons, and they are profitable and growing in popularity every year."
