SAM Magazine-Denver, Oct. 11, 2011-Having spun off its flagship Whistler/Blackcomb resort, and with its largest remaining resorts located in Colorado, Intrawest is relocating its headquarters here from Vancouver. The new office opened Sept. 26, and the transition from Vancouver will be completed by the end of the year. In the meantime, both offices are working on the transition.

Aside from being closer to its largest properties, Steamboat and Winter Park, the move creates "significant efficiencies," Intrawest CEO Bill Jensen told SAM. The company has relocated the 55 employees at its Golden, Colo., shared-services group to the new Denver location, and is hiring an additional 50 more people for the new office. A handful of Vancouver employees are also making the move.

The new Intrawest office is in Denver's trendy LoDo (lower downtown) neighborhood, at 1621 18th St, Suite 300, Denver, CO 80202; phone is (303) 749-8200.
