SAM Magazine--January 4, 2012--The operators for the past two years of Swain Resort, N.Y., have announced the purchase of the area, completing a lease-to-own agreement that was reached in August 2009 with the owners of Swain Recreation Center, LLC.

The purchase was made by Denton Hill Family and Ski Resort Inc. whose officers are Scott and Jodi Carts and Shawn and Celeste Schoonover. The two couples have been operating Swain along with Ski Denton, located 65 miles south of Swain in Potter County, PA.

Assisting in the transaction were the Allegany County Office of Development and the Allegany County Industrial Development Agency. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The new owners have already expanded the area's snowmaking and trail system and is looking to develop ski-in/ski-out real estate opportunities. \
