SAM Magazine—Glens Falls, N.Y., Dec. 11, 2012—To encourage skiing and riding in the state, New York areas are offering 10,000 lift tickets for just $10 each, valid for one day only—Jan. 10—at a host of the state's resorts.

Participating areas include Peek n' Peak, Holiday Valley, Holimont, Kissing Bridge, Bristol, Greek Peak, Four Seasons, Dry Hill, Titus, Whiteface, Gore, Catamount, Hunter, Windham, Oak, Tuxedo Ridge, Woods Valley and Belleayre, West Mountain, Hickory Hill, Mt. Peter, and Swain, with more expected to join in as Jan. 10 draws nearer. Since Jan. 10 is a Thursday, Ski Areas of New York (SANY), which organized the promotion, is hoping that the gambit will encourage many guests to take a long weekend at the resorts.

To get in on this opportunity, skiers and riders visit SANY online at www.iskiny.com through Jan. 9 and fill out an entry form. They then print out an email confirmation and take it with them when they head to their chosen ski area on Jan.10. There's a limit of two tickets per email address, and tickets are subject to availability at each ski area.

As January is Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month, some participating resorts are offering specially-priced learn-to-ski packages on Jan. 10 as well.
