Apparel dollars grew most, climbing 6 percent. Equipment accessory units climbed 3 percent, but a 10 percent increase in average selling price led to a 13 percent dollar gain. Outdoor equipment and footwear dollars remained flat from December 2011, despite an 11 percent drop in equipment unit sales. Winter equipment was down 10 percent in both units and dollars from 2011—which was down 24 percent in dollars from December 2010.
