SAM Magazine—Frisco, Colo., Oct. 31, 2013—In an attempt to ease housing pressures for employees of the resorts that populate the I-70 corridor in Colorado, the U.S. House of Representatives has approved a bill to convey 40 acres of White River National Forest to Summit County, Colo., so that the county can establish affordable housing on the site. The land is between Dillon and Frisco, near I-70. Proceeds from home sales could be used to fund maintenance and improvements to Forest Service facilities.

The bill still requires action in the U.S. Senate, where a bill has also been introduced. It is scheduled for review by the Energy and Natural Resources committee during November.
