SAM Magazine—Natick, Mass., Nov. 6, 2013—SAM Magazine and Snow Operating LLC, are joining forces to host the first annual Conversion Camp at Jiminy Peak, Mass., March 4-6, 2014. The Conversion Camp will be a total immersive experience for resort operators that examines the complete trial and conversion process for beginners—from the parking lot to the slopes.

The full immersion will include testing the latest rental systems as attendees experience, first-hand, terrain-based learning all while learning from experts and sharing with fellow operators. A combination of on-hill, classroom, and other group activities will explore where current approaches fall short, and where opportunities to improve are greatest.

“We are thrilled to partner with SAM and Snow Operating LLC, to host the inaugural Conversion Camp this March," says Tyler Fairbank, CEO of The Fairbank Group and president of Jiminy Peak. "Conversion is something we are passionate about, and we are taking the next step by bringing Terrain-Based Learning (TBL) to Jiminy. We look forward to the Camp to share our experiences from our first season with TBL, and work with our industry partners on such a vital part of the future of our business.”

"This camp's single focus is to help increase conversion for our industry," adds Joe Hession, CEO and founder of Snow Operating, LLC. "By gathering the right group of people to share and experience first-hand how to create magic for our first-time skiers and riders, we can make a difference in the future of our industry. Together will we will explore, question, learn and be inspired and leave feeling armed to make a difference. Working with SAM Magazine, with its excellent reputation for producing small, intensive hands-on learning programs, is a perfect fit for this important topic."
