SAM Magazine—Vail, Colo., April 22, 2014—SAM's fifth annual Summer Ops Camp, a hands-on educational and networking event, will head to Vail, Colo., Sept. 3-5. The Camp gathers resort managers and operators from around North America to explore the exciting opportunities in four-season attractions.

In addition to a full schedule of on-hill workshops and classroom seminars at Vail, campers will explore and demo activities at several other very different summer facilities in the region. Taken together, these facilities will demonstrate to attendees some of the best examples of the how and why summer business is exploding with potential to increase bottom lines:

• Epic Discovery's mix of education and entertainment

• Activities and products geared to young kids and the whole family experience

• Ziplines, canopy tours and challenge courses

• Mountain bike parks

• Mountain coasters and slides

• New cutting-edge adrenaline attractions

• Specialty food and beverage.

In addition, summer ops experts and suppliers will be on hand to answer questions and provide demos of the latest activities and products.

"SAM Camps offer the chance to gather with a group of like-minded operators through an intensive hands-on camp-like experience," says Olivia Rowan, SAM co-publisher. "At this year's Summer Ops Camp, attendees will interact on many levels over the course of the three days and leave full of ideas to grow summer revenues at any resort."

"We're excited to host SAM and the industry for Summer Ops Camp," says Vail Mountain COO Chris Jarnot. "Our folks who have attended the past few years have had great experiences and learned an enormous amount to apply as we look to expand our summer operations. We look forward to hosting a great Camp and the opportunity to interact with and learn from everyone from around the industry on the topic of summer."
