SAM Magazine—Lakewood, Colo., Dec. 22, 2014—The National Ski Patrol (NSP) has elected five directors to its board of directors, including former board member Keith Cassidy, a patroller at Wintergreen, Va. Others include Rick Knight, of Mount Southington, Conn., Ken Kramer, of Winter Park, Colo., Chris Pringle, of Bradford Ski Area, Mass., and Bill Sinykin, Beaver Mountain, Utah. NSP's board members serve three-year terms.

"These five people have strong and diverse professional backgrounds that will make them a great asset to the National Ski Patrol," said NSP board chairman Ed McNamara. "Of the successful candidates in this election, one [Rick Knight] has a strong finance background that can help the board with budgeting, and one [Chris Pringle] has experience with IT systems and can help us in our search for new IT solutions.” Kramer is a practicing attorney in Colorado, where he has been involved in corporate governance issues and is knowledgeable about the statutes that apply to NSP.

"We believe that the expertise they each bring will continue to help elevate the NSP as we go into the next year's planning process," said NSP executive director John McMahon.

There are 13 members on the NSP board, representing six of NSP's 10 geographic divisions. Board elections are held annually via electronic ballot from Oct. 15 to Dec. 1.
