SAM Magazine—Woodbury, Conn., Jan. 22, 2015—Cutter's Camp registration is now open for both of this year's sessions, at Loon Mountain, N.H., April 12-14 and Timberline, Mt. Hood, Ore., May 11-15. Space will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrations are processed at www.cutterscamp.com.

Cutter's Camp is based on the belief that the key to a well-run and successful park is knowledgeable, informed and trained staff—no matter how great or small a resort's budget, equipment, or snow conditions. To that end, the 2015 program includes on-hill and classroom workshops applying the new sections of the NSAA Freestyle Terrain Notebook (jump feature design considerations, jump measurement procedures, signage, and glossary of terms).

Additionally, there will be sessions on the following:

• Lessons learned from terrain park court cases

• Creating a budget and financial planning for park programs

• Events

• Women and kids in your parks

• Design and construction of snow and man-made features

• Park groomer best practices

• Pre and post-lost strategies for your park program

And much, much more.

Yes, that's only the beginning. Beyond the formal sessions, Camp creates an open dialogue on freestyle terrain and provides a resource where terrain park managers and staff from around the world can share lessons and information on park safety, risk management, design, construction, machinery, marketing, events, operations and management.

The three-day Loon Mountain camp starts at $499; the five-day Timberline Camp, at $1,225. Prices include all meals, lodging, camp sessions, drink tickets, and welcome bag. Both programs will offer a grooming demo on the first day (pending snow availability at Loon). The Timberline program also includes an on-hill building program and airport transfers.
