SAM Magazine—Park City, Utah, March. 26, 2015—Powdr Corp. has aquired Human Movement Management (HMM), an active entertainment and event company that produces running races, festivals, triathlons, obstacle races, and outdoor events. Powdr officials say the move helps it further diversify its portfolio and expand its summer activities, events, and other programming at resorts.

“We think it's really important to diversify what we're doing and really look at these properties at mountain resorts that can play a lot of different roles and do a lot of different things,” said Wade Martin, president of Powdr Enterprises.

Based in Louisville, Colo., HMM produces more than 100 events in North America annually, and reported revenues of $9.1 million in 2014. The company currently has about 100 employees and was named one of Inc. Magazine's 500 fastest growing companies as well as one of Outside Magazine's Best Places to Work.

Jeff Suffolk, HMM founder and president, said the acquisition will help HMM focus more on mountain-centric events and add new roles in event production and marketing.

“We are excited to grow our existing events, but more importantly, work with the incredible Powdr platform to develop new and unique events and programming,” Suffolk said.

Powdr's business portfolio now includes nine mountain resorts, Woodward action sports camps and progression centers, Outside Television network, and Powdr Enterprises, a sports marketing and entertainment company.
