SAM Magazine—June 5, 2015, Tannersville, PA—Registration for SAM's 6th Annual Summer Ops Camp officially opens today. The camp, which will take place at Camelback Mountain Resort Sept. 9-11, will explore the many benefits of and growing opportunities in summer recreation at winter resorts.

Camelback is an exemplary host: it has an extensive array of summer activities that draw 450,000 visits in the summer, the same number the resort draws in winter.

In addition to a full schedule of on-hill workshops and classroom seminars at Camelback, campers will explore and demo Camelback's summer venues and activities, including CamelBeach, Camelback Mountain Adventures, and the newly opened Camelback Lodge and Aquatopia indoor waterpark. And, attendees will have the opportunity to go on an offsite trip to Mountain Creek to get a behind-the-scenes look at their award winning downhill bike park operation.

"Camelback is an ideal location to learn first hand how a highly successful, growing and evolving four season resort ticks," said SAM's publisher, Olivia Rowan. "With contributions from a variety of experts and fellow operators, we will examine the full range of summer issues: pricing strategies, seasonal transitions, aerial parks, new zipline technology, safety and risk management, getting the right mix, summer-based family programming, and much, much more."

“Summer is the next frontier for winter resorts looking for new ways to cater to guests. And, Summer Ops Camp is the ideal forum, one where industry participants can exchange ideas, meet suppliers, experience new attractions, and explore ways to complement their existing activities,” said Camelback GM, Charles Blier.

All-inclusive packages start at $505 (double) and $625 (single) and include lodging for two nights plus all meals, camp sessions and activities. Registration is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
