SAM MAGAZINE—Cortland, N.Y., Sept 16, 2015—Greek Peak is purchasing Toggenburg. During a press conference at Toggenburg today, former owner Jim Hickey and the new owners—who are also co-owners of Greek Peak Mountain Resort—Marc Stemerman and John Meier, addressed the details.

Greek Peak Mountain Resort owners Marc Stemerman and John Meier filed a purchase agreement to buy Toggenburg Mountain on Aug. 26, 2015. The combination will see former Toggenburg owner Hickey continue to operate the Foggy Goggle restaurant and lend his culinary skills to the food and beverage department at Greek Peak. “We are combining our strengths with Greek Peak's 57 years of ski resort operations and my expertise and reputation managing restaurants,” said Hickey.

As lifelong skiers in CNY, Meier and Stemerman are both very about passionate about skiing. “We invest everything back into the mountain.” The partners said they have long admired Toggenburg as the key mountain in the greater Syrcause area.

While there are no major plans to change the daily operations at Toggenburg, the new owners plan to invest in the ski and snowboard experience, as they have at Greek Peak, and continue providing great food and service at the Foggy Goggle.

Season passholders at Toggenburg and Greek Peak will also benefit: they will receive skiing and snowboarding privileges at both resorts.
