SAM Magazine—Boulder, Colo., Oct. 1, 2015—There are still several hours left to join the Guinness World Record ski and ride lesson attempt. With 103 resorts signed on by mid-afternoon, organizers hope to reach 120 by tonight's midnight deadline.

“Given the high potential for publicity and the very low risk, why wouldn't you take part?” said idea originator Hugh Reynolds of Snow Operating. “Areas can leverage the media that this attempt will receive and get great benefit from it.”

That benefit will start to appear very soon, as the longer-range PR effort surrounding the world record attempt will kick off within a week. Resorts can sign up now at www.ski-snowboard.org/worlds-largest-lesson/register. There will be plenty of time to meet the minimal but all-important requirements to count toward the record total, and all the necessary information—as well as several pieces of ready-to-go promotional material—is on the website as well.
