SAM Magazine—Turin, N.Y., Oct. 9, 2015—The mother and son duo of Cyndy Sisto and Nick Mir have taken ownership of Snow Ridge Ski Resort. The Adriondack resort was previously owned by Russell Horn.

“Snow Ridge has a rich history of providing exceptional skiing and snowboarding for central and northern New York families,” said Sisto. “Our unique location provides us with some of the best snow and ski conditions on the East Coast, receiving approximately 230 inches of snow annually. The potential for growth is huge, and we can't wait to get started.”

The new owners plan to implement a few changes, including expanding the learning facilities and extending winter hours. Also on the agenda is building upon Snow Ridge's existing race programs, strengthening the terrain parks, and slowly building up the summer operations program.

Sisto and Mir, both avid skiers, have more than 40 years of combined experience in the ski resort industry. Sisto's background includes working in a management role at Toggenburg Mountain, where she helped with day-to-day operations. Mir's experience includes managing rental and demo shop operations at Breckenridge, Colo., and Mount Hood, Ore.

Snow Ridge is home to 22 trails and six lifts spread across 130 acres of skiable terrain.
