amy reentsSAM Magazine—Minneapolis, Minn., March 8, 2016—Amy Reents will take over as president/executive director of the Midwest Ski Areas Association effective May 1.

Reents is currently co-owner of Mount Kato Ski Area in Mankato, Minn. She spent more than 25 years at Afton Alps, located in Hastings Minn., which was co-founded by her father. Reents has been an MSAA board member since 2002 and is a past chairperson.

Reents succeeds Chris Stoddard, who has been executive director of MSAA since it was founded 25 years ago. Stoddard will remain active in the organization during the ongoing transition and will continue oversight of the MSAA Ski Area Rental and Accessory Management Program, as well his business, Mountain Management Services.

The non-profit MSAA represents roughly 92 ski areas and ski industry supplier vendors located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
