SAM Magazine—Park City, Utah, April 29, 2016—Lee Canyon president and general manager Kevin Stickelman has resigned from Lee Canyon, Nev., to become chief operating officer of the National Abilitystickelman emailsize Center in Park City, Utah. Stickelman had been in the Powdr organization for 15 of the last 20 years, leading Lee Canyon (formerly Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort) for the last six.

In an internal memo, Stickelman said: “I have met incredible people through Powdr and have had wonderful experiences. I am grateful for the opportunities that working for Powdr has given me and my family. I am indebted to John Cumming and the Cumming family, and will sincerely miss being a part of the Powdr family.”

“Kevin will be greatly missed across the Powdr family,” said Powdr COO/EVP Tim Brennwald. “Over his tenure he was instrumental in the growth and success of Lee Canyon.” The executive team at Powdr is working closely with Lee Canyon's leadership team to manage the transition, the memo states.

The National Ability Center (NAC) is a non-profit organization that provides recreational and educational programs for people with disabilities. As an amputee himself, Stickelman knows personally the impact an organization like NAC can have on the lives of individuals who participate in its programs.

“Kevin's understanding of the NAC's core operating values and the wealth of knowledge he brings from similar industries made him the standout candidate for this position,” said Gail Loveland, National Ability Center's executive director. “His drive and passion for our program, as well as his insight with regard to fiscal responsibility needed to direct a non-profit organization, will prove instrumental in enhancing what we offer the adaptive sports and recreation community.”

Stickelman earned a SAMMY Leadership Award in 2014.
