SAM Magazine—Natick, Mass., Aug. 29, 2016—Registration for SAM's seventh annual Summer Ops Camp—a series of seminars, workshops, and site visits that explore the state of the art in summer operations—closes summeropslogoSept. 6. A few spots are still available for the Camp, Sept. 14-16 at Park City, Utah.

Here is a sample day at Camp:

Thursday, September 15

• Breakfast in the Vendor Pavilion, where you can meet with 35 summer-specific vendors and ask questions of experts at our new "Q&A Pods."

• Morning sessions at Canyons base area start with "Summer Market Intelligence" from Ralf Garrison of DestiMetrics. Next, a panel of master planners, operators, and Forest Service staff describe how to build out your summer business on Forest Service land. A third panel discussion, with board members from the Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) and other aerial adventure park and zip tour experts, addresses this growing field.

• We head off to Park City for a delicious lunch and to experience the resort's adventure park, especially its new kids park. Then you have two choices: an epic hike from Park City to Deer Valley, accompanied by experts on building value and fun into your trail system; or a mountain bike workshop at Deer Valley, with its two new flow trails for beginners and intermediates. And finally, just because it sounded really cool, you can opt for a horseback trail ride at Deer Valley and see its equine operation up close.

• Dinner and a few surprise activities at Deer Valley wrap up the day, followed by last call at the umbrella bar at the Canyons base area.

The rest of the program includes sessions on risk management, summer capital deployment, summer staffing challenges, and events. Offsite tours include trips to Sundance, Snowbird, Utah Olympic Park, and the Petzl Technical Institute. Check out all the details at http://www.saminfo.com/summer-ops-camp
