Push to The Latest: No

SAM Magazine—Stowe, Vt., Dec. 6, 2016—It's fairly common for a mountain resort to be breastfeeding-friendly, but Stowe has taken it one step further by mamava esizeinstalling a Mamava lactation suite in its Spruce Camp Base Lodge—the first ski resort in the nation to do so.

The Mamava suite is a self-contained, mobile pod with comfortable benches, a fold-down table, an electrical outlet for plugging in a breast pump, and a door that can be locked for privacy. The 4-foot by 8-foot pod is meant for individual use, but can fit more than one person, as well as mothers with babies and other children in tow. No word yet if this particular unit has extra hooks to hang the abundance of gear skiing moms will need to shed after coming in off the mountain.

“The installation makes total sense considering everything we've done in recent years to add conveniences and amenities for families,” said resort sales manager Lauren Simmers. “This pod will help us to further support our moms with options. Breastfeeding is of course welcome anywhere a mom feels comfortable throughout our resort, but for those who prefer privacy or need to pump, we now have this space for you.”

Based in Burlington, Vt., Mamava's lactation suites can be found worldwide, including several major airports, hospitals, and sports venues such as Fenway Park, Citi Field, and Pepsi Arena.
