SAM Magazine—Broomfield, Colo., Jan. 4, 2017—Vail Resorts has more capital enhancements planned for three of its Colorado resorts—Vail, Keystone, and Breckenridge—highlighted by a new high speed six-passenger lift at each of the Breck lift esizeproperties, all scheduled to be installed in time for the 2017-18 ski season. Each new lift will increase capacity by up to 25 percent compared to the lifts they're replacing. All installations will be done by Leitner-Poma, and are subject to U.S. Forest Service approval.

At Vail, VR is replacing the Northwoods Express, which currently serves as a primary lift on the front side of the mountain, providing access to intermediate and advanced terrain. It will be the tenth lift replacement in the last 11 years at Vail.

At Breckenridge, the Falcon SuperChair on Peak 10, which services advanced terrain on the resort's southern-most peak, is being replaced.

Keystone is upgrading the Montezuma Express, which is a primary lift on Dercum Mountain, serving popular intermediate and novice terrain.

Keystone also plans to expand Labonte's Smokehouse BBQ with a new, 150-seat indoor facility. Labonte's is located at the base of North Peak, and currently offers a large outdoor seating area and “ski beach” with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs for dining, as well as a small warming hut.
