SAM Magazine—Jackson, Wyo., June 18, 2018—As part of its master development plan, Snow King Mountain Resort (SKMR) intends to build an on-site facility that will house approximately 50 seasonal Snow King Employee Housingemployees. The Jackson town council must approve the plan before construction can begin. SKMR hopes to start building it by 2020.

The site for the proposed employee housing facility is currently home to the mountain’s maintenance shop. The new facility would also provide storage for mountain operations.

“Snow King has been exploring opportunities to build on-site housing for several years, and if we can relocate our maintenance facilities to a better location at the base of the mountain, we will be able to create a visually appealing housing facility that will improve the look of Vine Street,” said Snow King general manager Ryan Stanley. “We are looking forward to moving this proposed project forward as soon as possible and working to help solve our community’s housing problem.”

SKMR houses around 20 employees each season outside of the resort district.

In a somewhat related step, Snow King plans to launch a pilot program for an activity shuttle this year. The free shuttle will drive a regular route to hotels and key locations around town, providing transportation directly to Snow King. Snow King hopes this program will help reduce vehicular trips around town and traffic congestion during the summer months.
