SAM Magazine—Marco Island, Fla., May 11, 2018—The National Ski Areas Association recognized six ski areas and one state association with Safety Awards for exceptional initiatives to educate guestsHN NSAAsafetyawards2018 53118 and employees about skiing and snowboarding responsibly.



Of the seven categories, California had finalists in six of them, winning three: Mammoth Mountain as “Best Overall Safety Program” for resorts with 500,000 or more visits, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows for “Best Employee Safety Program,” and the California Ski Industry Association was recognized with the “Safety Impact Award.” Squaw Alpine and Mammoth were finalists in two categories. Telluride, Colo., was also a finalist in two categories, but didn’t take home the top spot in either this year.
