SAM Magazine—Park City, Utah, Nov. 16, 2018—Former Chicago Bears tight end Dustin Lyman is now president and general manager of Powdr-owned Copper Mountain. Lyman, a Boulder, Colo., native, will oversee all resort operations effective immediately. The position opened in July 2018 after longtime GM Gary Rogers stepped down.CopperGM

Lyman brings a wealth of professional experience to the role. Most recently, he served as CEO of Famous Brands International, leading the renaissance of two iconic brands, Mrs. Fields Cookies and TCBY Yogurt. He also worked three years in corporate finance at Vail Resorts with significant focus on strategy and resort functions.

“I look forward to driving Copper’s continued success and working with the resort team to build upon Copper’s momentum and deliver an outstanding Raised on Colorado guest experience,” said Lyman.

“Copper is going through a significant transformation including new lifts, new restaurants, new on-mountain services, and, under Dustin’s leadership, the resort will continue to optimize the guest and employee experience so that it reflects the best of Colorado’s year-round adventure,” said Powdr co-president Justin Sibley.

Lyman played NCAA Div. I football and baseball at Wake Forest University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago.He played five seasons with the NFL's Chicago Bears, 2000 – 2004.
