SAM Magazine—Sun Valley, Idaho, Feb. 6, 2019—It’s only the beginning of February and the season pass wars for 2019-20 have already begun. Sun Valley, Idaho, and Snowbasin, Utah, are joining Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass in a “multi-Snowbasin Sun Valley Epic Passyear alliance” starting next winter. Sun Valley is the first Idaho resort to become an Epic Pass partner, and the addition of Snowbasin helps counter the broad presence of Alterra Mountain Company’s Ikon Pass in Utah.

"Snowbasin and Sun Valley are crown jewels of our family-owned businesses, and we are always looking for new ways to provide outstanding service to our guests," noted Carol Holding, whose husband, Earl, bought Sun Valley in 1977. "As we remain committed to investing in and operating our properties for many years to come, this multi-year alliance with the Epic Pass will bring value to our passholders and introduce more guests to our unique traditions."

Epic Pass holders will have seven unrestricted days at each resort; Epic Local passholders will have two days at each resort with some restrictions; and the Epic 7- and 4-Day passes can be used for all available days on each respective pass.

Guests with unrestricted Snowbasin or Sun Valley season passes will get 50-percent off single-day window rate lift tickets at all Vail Resorts-owned properties.
