SAM Magazine—Natick, Mass., Sept. 6, 2019—SAM has launched an open call for nominations to become a mentee for the third year of the successful Summit Series for future leaders. The season-long program, SAM SummitSeries logoaimed at developing the next generation of industry leaders, creates a public dialogue between established and respected industry leaders and up-and-coming resort staffers. These important conversations will be shared in the pages of SAM and on SAM's podcast channel, PodSAM.

Potential mentees must be currently employed within the industry and willing to critically asses their current skill sets and development. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 25, 2019. Submit a nomination here, or apply to be a mentee here.

The program will consist of professionally facilitated group calls on topics directly related to leadership skills and the management of a snowsports industry business. The program’s facilitator, Paul Thallner from High Peaks Group, guides the mentor/mentee calls. Following the calls, mentees will participate in a deep-dive assignment relevant to the call topic provided by Dr. Natalie Ooi and Colorado State University's Graduate Certificate in Ski Area Management Program.

Mentees will also be paired with a mentor for one-on-one discussions related to career goals, challenges in the industry, and more.

The Summit Series aims to fuel a movement that fosters relationships between the current leadership of the industry and those who would succeed them. Supporting this effort to develop new leaders are the Summit Series sponsors, MountainGuard and Leitner Poma of America.
