SAM Magazine—Portland, Ore., Feb. 2, 2021—Soldier Mountain and Pomerelle Mountain Resort, Idaho, have joined the Indy Pass. Each resort will provide Indy Pass holders two days of access through the end of the 2020-21 season. The pass now includes access to 16 ski areas in the Pacific Northwest, and 61 North American ski areas in all. IndyPass

Soldier Mountain was acquired by a new ownership group in August. The resort was hit by a wildfire that damaged a chairlift and destroyed a conveyor lift shortly after the acquisition, but extensive repairs were made in addition to other capital improvements in time for opening this winter.

“We are super stoked to be joining the Indy Pass and welcoming skiers from across the U.S. to our little corner of paradise here in the Sawtooth Mountains,” said Soldier Mountain general manager and managing partner Paul Alden.

Pomerelle is one of the only resorts to offer night skiing in the region. It averages nearly 500 inches of snow a year. “The Indy Pass coalition of smallish resorts is a great fit for Pomerelle,” said general manager Jody Burrows. “We are a true mom-and-pop operation that delivers great snow and strives to provide a friendly, uncrowded atmosphere for our guests.”

Doug Fish, founder of the Indy Pass, told SAM that sales of the pass are 725 percent ahead of last year, with redemptions projected to be around 80,000 this season. "Our payout yields should be very solid," he added.
