In recent years and months, I have been privileged to be among the leaders of the ski industry as we have struggled to give direction to NSAA. Each of us involved in the planning and decision making process has contributed to the good of the industry and the sport of skiing. On behalf of the ski area suppliers [Roberts is the current supplier member of the NSAA board—Ed.] I wish to thank John Stahler and David Ingemie and everyone at SIA for their part of that effort. Our time together was important.
Now we must begin to build the NSAA that you, our members, tell us that you want. Chris Diamond, Gary McCoy, the Board and the Task Force have designed a fine organization. Michael Berry hardly had time to get directions to his new Lakewood offices, but he rocketed to a great start at the two winter trade shows. I am enthused about NSAA’s prospects.
Success is at hand, because it is in your hands. Participation in NSAA is more important to your business than ever before. If you have not joined, do it now. If you have not made plans to attend the convention in San Diego, do it now. The rates will be the most affordable in years, and the program will be informative and motivational.
The last letter of NSAA stands for Association, and we must use it as our place to come together. This can not be done by mailings and newsletters alone. This can only happen at our meetings. Do your part to put new life in NSAA, and to build the trade association that this industry deserves.
