SAM Magazine—Newry, Maine, April 7, 2020—Sunday River Resort has hired Brian Heon as its new general manager, beginning May 1. Heon is currently the general manager at Wildcat Mountain, N.H., a role he’s held since 2013.HeonHNWeb

In his new position at Sunday River, Heon will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the resort, overseeing mountain operations, skier services, food and beverage, the SnowSports School, facilities, public safety, information technology, and the Sunday River Golf Club.

Heon brings extensive experience in resort operations. Prior to Wildcat, he was the lift operations manager at Mount Snow, Vt. He came to Mount Snow after working on the lift ops team at The Canyons (now part of Park City Mountain) in Utah. He is also the co-chair of the National Tramway Standards Board, and is a representative on the American National Standards Institute.

Dana Bullen, who has been with Sunday River since 2004, will continue in his role as resort president, focusing on the Maine ski area’s operational and financial performance, real estate development, and long-term growth strategies.
