Indy Pass has added more than 30 new partners, including a headlining partnership with Smugglers’ Notch Resort, Vt. The additions push the pass above its 300-resort guarantee, made in spring, and have anchored a fall pass sale that opened to waitlist members Sept. 1 and the general public today.
The list of additions includes a mix of domestic and international alpine and cross-country partners. Top billing has gone to Vermont’s Smugglers’ Notch, which is owned by Bear Den Partners, a group that also owns Burke Mountain, Vt., Berkshire East, Mass., and Catamount, N.Y. Smuggs is the only Bear Den resort joining Indy Pass this year.
“Smuggs, Bear Den and Indy share a commitment to independent mountains, families, affordability and protecting the character of the skiing and riding experience,” said Smugglers’ Notch general manager Brandon Swartz. “We believe this partnership can introduce more people to what makes Smuggs special while preserving the experience our resort guests, passholders and homeowners have valued for generations.”
While there are no blackout dates, Indy Pass holders will be required to make advanced reservations to redeem their two days of skiing or riding at Smuggs. Smuggs operates within a two-hour radius of 13 other Indy Pass alpine and cross-country partners. The resort is in the midst of a major snowmaking upgrade.
Among the other ski areas joining Indy Pass for the 2026-27 season are King Pine, N.H., Nutt Hill, Wis., Powder Ridge, Conn., Showdown, Mont., Skeetawk, Alaska, Ski Saint-Bruno, Quebec, and Winter4Kids, N.J.
The pass also added a robust list of international partners in Austria, Japan, France, Finland, and Switzerland.
There were also some past partners that have dropped off Indy for the 2026-27 season. These include the three Schmitz Brothers Resorts ski areas in Wisconsin: Little Switzerland, Nordic Mountain, and Crystal Ridge. “Our agreement with Indy ran its term and we chose not to renew,” said Schmitz Brothers Resorts co-owner Rick Schmitz.
The Midwest Family Ski Resorts properties—Granite Peak, Wis., Lutsen Mountains, Minn., and Snowriver Mountain Resort, Mich.—also moved on from Indy Pass. They joined the Ikon Pass for 2026-27. And Caberfae Peaks, Mich., didn’t renew as a partner.
The 2026-27 Indy Pass went on sale to the general public today for $419 for the Base Pass and $99 for the XC Pass. Indy has added 17 cross country areas for the coming season in addition to roughly 42 new alpine partners. A full list of partners can be found below.
