SAM Magazine—Tremblant, Quebec, Sept. 3, 2026—Mont Tremblant will add 62 acres of skiable terrain served by a new high-speed quad chairlift for the 2027-28 season in the Versant Soleil area of the resort, which is also the future home of the new Club Med Tremblant that’s scheduled to open in 2028. A new beginner area will open this winter in the Versant Soleil base as part of an overall CA$42.5 million (roughly US$30.8 million) investment at the Alterra-owned resort.

The terrain expansion is called Timber Summit. It will include eight new trails of all difficulty levels, mostly beginner and intermediate, with more than 1,400 feet of vertical drop. All the new trails will be covered by snowmaking. 

The new detachable lift, to be named Timber Express, will span roughly 5,900 feet from the base of Versant Soleil to the top of Timber Summit and transport up to 2,400 passengers per hour on 125 quad carriers. Tremblant said the technology is comparable to its Lowell Thomas Express lift, a Doppelmayr high-speed quad installed in 2018.

A covered conveyor lift will serve the new 1.1-acre beginner area, which will have full snowmaking coverage. It will be open on weekends and during peak periods this winter. 

“Timber Summit represents much more than an expansion of our ski terrain,” said Mont Tremblant president and chief operating officer Patrice Malo. “It reflects our commitment to continually elevating the Tremblant experience and creating new opportunities for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, today’s families, and generations to come.” 

Once complete, the new lifts will increase Tremblant’s hourly lift capacity by 10 percent.
