SAM Magazine - Mt. Crested Butte, Colo., November 19, 2007- Crested Butte sees an opportunity in November's Rocky Mountain dry spell. With many Colorado and Utah ski areas postponing opening days and limited terrain at many of the resorts which are open, the 'Butte,--which opened as scheduled on November 17--is offering half price tickets to the competition's season passholders. The promotion runs Thanksgiving week and slashes the early season adult full day ticket price of $39 to $19.50 at the ticket window. Any season passholder from any ski resort in the country is eligible for the deal.

With approximately 24 acres of skiing on runs, the 'Butte hopes to cater to disgruntled passholders whose resorts haven't opened yet or are offering very limited terrain.

"We are pleased to be open with great early season conditions. CBMR would like to extend an invitation to passholders from other resorts that may not be open at this time," says Ken Stone, Crested Butte Mountain Resort's Chief Marketing Officer.

However, with snow forecasted over the next week, it's expected that conditions will dramatically improve across the region, which has seen a slew of ski areas--from Steamboat to Alta--delay openings.
