SAM Magazine-Angel Fire, N.M., Sept. 21, 2007-Angel Fire is embarking on a multi-million dollar facelift of the resort's 120- room base area hotel. The 18-month project starts this fall and will include a new fitness center, upscaled common areas, and four "showcase" hotel rooms providing a preview look at the finished product. The finished remodel will beautify all guest rooms, exterior and interior spaces. The area is also refurbishing parking areas and augmenting group meeting facilities with the latest technology.

On the mountain, the ski area has also added a new 10-acre glade skiing area on the backside of the mountain between the existing "Fire Escape" and "Hallelujah" ski trails. This will be the third glade added in the past three seasons, expanding the ski resort's terrain to 72 trails on more than 500 skiable acres, including two terrain parks (including the state's only halfpipe). The ski area is expected to open on Dec. 15.
