SAM Magazine-Mt. Hood, Ore., Jan. 14, 2008-Mt. Hood Meadows has named Tom Spangler, currently Jackson Hole COO, to become general manager at Mt. Hood Meadows. His appointment culminates a six-month selection process, in which more than 50 candidates were considered. Spangler will begin his new position in late February.

Spangler has been at Jackson Hole since August 1998 as vice president general manager, chief operating officer; he oversaw all winter and summer operations. In all, he has 35 years of resort experience.

"Tom has a vast amount of experience in the industry, heading up operations, expansion projects and environmental programs," said Matthew Drake, MHM CEO. "I believe Tom possesses the operational knowledge, leadership skills, drive, character and passion needed to realize Mt. Hood Meadows' mission of becoming the 'Best in the West' in employee and guest loyalty."

Spangler said he is excited about joining the team at Mt. Hood Meadows. "Mt.
